Even application on the face is recommended, but can focus on the affected areas. The only product that can be applied locally is the melanogel Touch roll on.

Is it possible to apply on hands and décolleté?

Cosmelan-amf is not recommended to be used on those areas. The experience showed that other techniques and procedures trigger better results for those areas.

Can it be used to remove all kinds of patches?

Only the treatment of epidermal melasma has been studied using the Cosmelan-amf system. Because of this reason, proper medical consultation is essential before starting the treatment.

If a client is under Cosmelan-2-amf and wants to undergo an IPL rejuvenation treatment, could it be done?

The client should suspend application of Cosmelan-2-amf 72 hours before undergoing the rejuvenation treatment in order to avoid post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Can Cosmelan-amf & Dermazelan system be used together?

Acne should be treated first, therefore the use of Dermazelan treatment program is recommended.  After which, it is recommended to wait at least a minimum of 6 months before using Cosmelan-amf to treat any residual hyperpigmentation.

Is this a treatment that you apply once in a lifetime or is it possible to repeat the application more times? More often?

It is an effective treatment to apply only once and perform ongoing maintenance. However, given the improvements of your skin, there are patients who choose to repeat the treatment every year.

For how long is it recommended to use the maintenance?

It is recommended that Cosmelan-2-amf be applied continuously for 12 months.

What reactions could be considered normal when leaving the Cosmelan-amf mask for 8 hours on the skin?

During the application time of the mask, patients often have a slight itching sensation or might feel some heat. Could be that the film of the mask dries a bit in areas where there is only a little product, or experience some irritation from the 6th hour of the application. We recommend keeping your eyes closed and if possible to put cotton pads soaked in fresh water or chamomile. Usually the sensation of tension appears 24 hours after removing the mask.  This is normal and expected. It feels like a bad sunburn and is usually quite bearable.

After how long do you begin to notice the result of the treatment?

From the 1st month of the application of the mask, you begin to notice the overall improvement of the skin.

Can the Cosmelan-2-amf be used indefinitely after the Cosmelan-amf treatment?

Yes, there would be no contraindication to the fact of continuous use. It is recommended to rest approximately 1 month per year.

Can Cosmelan-2-amf be recommended as a home maintenance depigmentation treatment, in such cases of other kinds of depigmentation treatments like TMT System and IPL depigmentation?

Yes, it can be recommended in post treatment cases of chemical peels, TMT system and after all sessions of IPL have been completed. In cases where Cosmelan-2-amf is used in combination with IPL treatments, application Cosmelan-2-amf should be suspended 72 hours before the IPL treatment and recommenced only 72 hours post IPL treatment.

Regarding sun exposure, what is recommended?

Do not expose treated skin to the sun without the use of complete sun block (SPF 50+). When a patient has a tendency to develop hyperpigmentation, the use of complete sun block should be mandatory every day.

Can this treatment be performed during the months of higher sun incidence?

Yes, but it is necessary to be extremely careful with sun protection.
