Stretch marks are the result of certain skin atrophies, generally appearing as parallel undulations, visible due to their pink, violet or pale colouration, arising from the localized thinning and sagging of the epidermis. They are caused by the tearing of the elastic reticule (collagen and elastin) of the skin.

The tearing of the tissue occurs due to sudden changes in weight, which give rise to processes of excessive stretching and return of the skin.

By applying a pole to the skin with the same polarity as the charge of the substance, electro-repulsion is caused, permitting the penetration of the active principles.
